Pacific Place in Admiralty|Pacific Place presents public art installations to celebrate Hong Kong Arts Month

Description
To celebrate Hong Kong Art Month, Pacific Place is presenting a series of exciting public art installations, including works by Zurich-based artist Monster Chetwynd for Pacific Place and works by French contemporary artist Laurent Perbos at Starstreet Precinct.
Monster Chetwynd's "Lanternfly Ballet" debuts at Pacific Place
For three consecutive years, Pacific Place has been the only off-site exhibition at Art Basel Hong Kong's "Encounters" exhibition. This year, it will present the artist Monster Chetwynd's first public art installation in Hong Kong. The work features the common insect "Long-nosed Cicada" and Hong Kong's woodlands as the protagonists, paying tribute to Hong Kong's rich biodiversity. It consists of three "Long-nosed Cicada" sculptures perched on water lily leaves created by the artist in a collage style. At certain times, a dance performance inspired by the metamorphosis of the long-nosed wax cicada will transform Pacific Place into a magical ecological wonder. Invited media can be the first to experience this wonderful art event at the preview event. Alexie Glass-Kantor, curator of Art Basel’s Encounters, will accompany the artists at the preview.
Laurent Perbos's work "Beauty and Gesture" landed in Starstreet Community
Laurent Perbos's sculpture series "Beauty and Gesture" unveiled during the Paris Olympics was inspired by the famous ancient Greek sculpture "Venus de Milo". Each statue is equipped with sports equipment symbolizing Olympic events. This series of works was previously exhibited at the French National Assembly and is now on display in Hong Kong for the first time. Media can be the first to appreciate it at a preview event at the Star Street Community in Wan Chai.
